VOLVO STORE
Volvo Personvagnar AB belongs to a Swedish automobiile company, which was found in back in 1927. Founded in Gothenburg, Sweden, Volvo is currently managed and own by Ford Motor Company.
Volvo began working with SKF Svenska Kullagerfabriken AB which worked specifically on ball bearing . It was in the year 1935 when SKF decided to sell most of it’s stock shares to Volvo AB. Volvo cars was ownded by AB Volvo until 1999, when Ford Motor Company bought the company to form part of its Premier Automotive Group.
As of now, Volvo produces all types of cars. From SUVs to wagons; from sedans to copact executive coues. Volvo has become a powerful automotive copany with 100 markets worldwide. 60 percet of all sales come from Europe, 30 percent from North America and 10 percent in the rest of the world.
The mayor detail which diferenciated Volvo vehicles (back in the 1970's and 1980's) from the rest is its tractor like appearence. This is hightly due to Volvo AB’s involvement with heavy equipment. Volvo’s were considered to be slow and heavy, which earned them the nick name “brick” or “turbobricks”. Most models of our generation have lost the “brick like” figure and opted for a more sleek and modern look. Now, Volvo has a baring reputation of light weight car ideal for sporting performance. The most succesful vehicle from Volvo was the Volvo240 since it was the first morphed and improved design from the company. It led Volvo to with a couple of awards; one in 1985 and the other in 1986.
In need of a new plant, Volvo opened the largest production station ( even today) in Torslanda, Sweden. The site, which was opened in 1964 is focus on building their large cars and SUV models. Next year the second plant was opened in Ghent, Belgium. Uddevalla, Sweden became the third city in Sweden to hold, yet another plant, in 1989. Currently, the Udevalla Volvo Car plant has joint custody with Italian brand Pinifarina.

According to studies, Volvo vehicles have around 19.8 years or usage before it is discarded. In the USA, Forbes (a leading American publishing and media company) has Volvo as the 9th best general car manufacturer and 6th on the list for luxury vehicles.
In its beginning years, back in 1927, Volvo was introduced by Assar Gabrielsson (director) and Gustav Larson (technical manager).Volvo AB designed a special ball bearing series for the American market back in the 11 of May, 1915. However, SKF would keep the ball bearing designer and use it on its products.  There have been a lot of Volvo trademark products built throughout the years that never made it to the market. In 1927, the ball bearing once built for the American government was re-launched but this time Volvo AB was its own company.
Volvo ÖV 4 was the first assemble car for sale in April 14, 1927. The company was focused on building closed top and cabriolet vehicles designed to fit Sweden’s extreme climate.
