Jaguar is a  British luxury car owned by Tata Motorls Ltd. which is a Indian based company since March of 2008.  Since its change in ownership, stil, the Jaguar company operates under the same name Jaguar Land Rover company simply because Tata Motor owns both brands (Jaguar and Land Rover). Jaguar Ltd. better known as Jaguar or Jag is headquartered in Coventry, England.
Jaguar began due to the atribution of his creator, Sir William Lyons in 1922. It was founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company, but had to change their name to Jaguar after World War II. Both S’s on the
The name Jaguar became fairly popular in the 1950’s due to its elegantly-styled sports cars and saloons. By 1951 Jaguar was leased by Daimler Motor Company, leading to Jaguar buying Daimler from the parent company named Birmingham Small Arms Company in the early 1960’s. Damiler became the brand Jaguares used for luxurious saloons.
Merging with the British Motor Corporation (BMC), and Austin-Morris, Jaguar became known as the British Motor Holdings alliance (BMH) in 1966. By the years 1968, another European brand, Leyland,  became part of the BMH group. Leyland had already purchased over the Rover and Standard Triumph brands. The overal change led BMH to change names once again to Britihs Leyland Motor Corporation (BLMC). Financial downfalls regarding government decisiosn led to the nationalisation of the company in 1975. BLMC became British Leyland ltd. (BL).
By 1970 the Jaguar and Daimler brands formed part of the BL division better knowns as Jaguar Rover Triumph Ltd. Ten years later in 1980, BL was restructured  and formed the Austing Rover Group, which didn’t include Jaguar since Jaguar seperated and worked as  a unitary brand In 1984.
Launched in 2001 the X Type is a executive compact car that is similar to the BMW 3 Series, as well as the Audi A4, and Mercedes-Benz C-class. As of now, Jaguar is expecting to relaunch a new X-Type in 2010.

Jaguar Land Rover announced that they the 2010 X-Type model will be the last X-Type creation.
MODELS
Jaguar XF  became the replacement of the S-Type in the coompany’s list of models. It is a mid-sized executive car which was awared in 2008 as Car of the Year in “What Car? Magazine” and “What Diesel?” magazine.
The XJ is is on of the oldest models; first model ever created was in 1968. The first generation on XJ was created by companys creator , Sir William Lyons. The Jaguar XJ is a full-size luxury sallon and the companys star production. Since the first XJ, the car has been re-engineered. However, it has always maitained it’s old-fahsioned interior or similar trademark look. Jaguar XJ has its sports model called the Super V8.
XK was introduced in 2006 as a luxury grand tourer replacing the old Jaguar model, XK8. Available as either as a two door coupé and/or two-door cabriolet/convertible,
name brought negative connotation because of  the SS Army (Schutzstafee, founded by Adolf Hitler and the Natzi party). Jaguar started their production building motorcycle sidecars. The, they changed to enginering passenger cars. As of today, Jaguar cars are designed and engineered  in their geadquarter at Coventry, England. The following production plants are where they manufacture the vehicles: Birmingham, Halewood  (in Liverpool), and Gaybon in Oxfordshire.
