VOLKSWAGEN STORE
Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft (VAG), also known as Volkswagen Group or as VW, is an automobile company that originated in Germany. Based in Wolfsburg, Germany. Volskwagen vehicles have been the pioneer in the Volskswagen Group which now contains brands such as Audi AG, Bentley Motors Ltd., Automobiles Bugatti SA, Automobili Lamborghini, SEAT, Skoda Auto and Scania A.B.  Volskwagen has previously endorsed a few Porsche creations, and they have also been head leadership in those creations as well.
German dictator, Adolf Hitler, had a lot to do with the creation onf the Volkswagen brand.  Since Hitler was very keen about cars eventhough he never drove one. Shortly after becoming Germany’s leader, he teamed up with Ferdinand Porsche. Porsche and Hitler did some changes on Porsche’s original desing in 1931 to make it easier to use for people specially the working man.  The car that both Hitler and Porsche designes, as well as many other people credited, was later known as the VW Käfe (better known as the Volkswagen Beetle). Chrysler Motors designed the Desoto Airpflow couple in 1934, which makde Ferdinand Porsche to resume his Beetle Design. However, Dr. Perdinand Porsche accepeted the task on making the “People’s Car” for Adolt Hitler’s mother.
While constructing the Beetle, Ferdinand Porsche made a few changes, which included a better fuel efficiency, reliability, ease use, and cheap reparis and parts. Since the car was being built for the people, Porsche’s mentallity was based on the fact that the ordinary European  would by the car.  It is estimated that around 336,000 people paid for the Beetle.

HISTORY
Erwin Komenda, was the Auto Union chief designer that developed the iconic body tye of the Beetle we know today. The Bettle vehicle soon evolved to be one the only cars aided by a wind tunnel. The other prototype was from Chrysler. Unlike Chrysler’s Airflow, Volkswagen’s Bettler was a success.
After World Ward II, Volkswagen factory which was located in Wolfsburg, Germany was taken over by the United Kigdom in 1945. Everything at the factory was taken back to Britain. British car manufacturer were not really interested in the Volkswagen design since they didnt like the overall look of the vehicle. Buyers wouldn’t buy the car. However, British Army Mayor,  Ivan Hirst, protected the Volskwagen history. Ivan Hirst was involved in giving Germay’s economy back.
Vokswagen became rather important in the economy for West Germany. Heinrich Nordhoff was the senior manager. Within his managing years in Volkswagen, the company came out with their next models called: the Volkswagen Type 2, and  the VW Karmann Ghia. The VW Type 2 was more a comercial vehicle (van), while as the Karmann was a sports car.
1949 was the year when the United States got to have the first Volskwagen vehicles, eventhough they only sold two cars in the US. Volkswagen started producing vehicles in America by 1955. The facotry was called Volkswagen of American. After the facotry opened, production of the Type 1 and Volskwagen Beetle increased by plenty. They reached one million cars sold by 1955.
By 1973, Volkswagen was having a a bad economy. Their newer models Type 3 and Type 4, were not selling sas well as the Beetle. European and North American Markets also started to sell less Bettle’s. Volkswagen knew that they had to stop producing Bettles some day because all the newer models were not selling well. VW’s ownership of Audi was also a key problem to the company. VW needed t ochange its strategy and start building another vehicle which would be a better version of the Beetle. With that in mind, Volkswagen louched the Polo, Golf and the Passat.  The Volkswagen Polo was very similar to a Audi design made a few years ago. The Volkswagen Passat/ Dasher was also a remodeled Audi vehicle. The Volkswagen Golf (1974) was the second best thing after the Beetle. US markets wanted the vehcile as well as Canadian markets too. It the US and Canada, they came up with a smaller Golf version called the Rabbit which was a huge success as well. In 1978, Volkswagen opened production factories in Brazil and Mexico.
Volkswagen is a combination of two german word, which translate to “Peoples Car”.
